A BILL to amend and reenact section seven, article two-b, chapter
twenty of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to the indexing of
fees for lifetime hunting, fishing and trapping licenses to
annual license fees; ineligibility of certain persons for a
license; and designation of a certain portion of the fees
for law-enforcement purposes.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section seven, article two-b, chapter twenty of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2B. WILDLIFE ENDOWMENT FUND.
ยง20-2B-7. Lifetime hunting, fishing and trapping licenses
created.
Pursuant to section three of this article, beginning on the
first day of May, one thousand nine hundred ninety-five, the
following lifetime hunting, fishing and trapping licenses are
hereby created and, for the lifetime of the licensee, shall serve
in lieu of the equivalent annual license: Provided, That a
full-time nonresident student who attends an in-state college or
university is not eligible to purchase any of these lifetime
licenses:
(a) A Class A-L lifetime resident statewide hunting and
trapping license, the fee for which shall be two hundred dollars
twenty-five times the fee for the equivalent annual licenses:
Provided, That the fee shall be one hundred dollars one half of
the adult fee for any resident who has not reached his or her
second birthday; for proof of age, a certified birth certificate
or other notarized record of birth shall be submitted with the
license application;
(b) A Class AB-L lifetime resident combination statewide
hunting, fishing and trapping license, the fee for which shall be three hundred dollars twenty-five times the fee for the
equivalent annual licenses: Provided, That the fee shall be one
hundred fifty dollars one half of the adult fee for any resident
who has not reached his or her second birthday; for proof of age,
a certified birth certificate or other notarized record of birth
shall be submitted with the license application;
(c) A Class B-L lifetime resident statewide fishing license,
the fee for which shall be two hundred dollars twenty-five times
the fee for the equivalent annual licenses: Provided, That the
fee shall be one hundred dollars one half of the adult fee for
any resident who has not reached his or her second birthday; for
proof of age, a certified birth certificate or other notarized
record of birth shall be submitted with the license application;
and
(d) A Class O-L lifetime resident trout fishing license, the
fee for which shall be one hundred dollars twenty times the fee
for the equivalent annual licenses: Provided, That the fee shall
be fifty dollars one half of the adult fee for any resident who
has not reached his or her second birthday; for proof of age, a
certified birth certificate or other notarized record of birth shall be submitted with the license application.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to change the fees for
lifetime hunting, fishing and trapping licenses to annual fees.
